The following are excellent programs for humor webmasters to make money with your site.
In fact good for any site, not just humor!
Adsense is one of the biggest revenue generating tools I use on various websites,
as ads can be targeted to your sites content.
ValueClick Media Online Advertising Network
- One of the largest banner ad networks, regular fast payments and loads of variety in banners. Decent cpm rates.
Agloco - a global community where everybody can earn and webmasters are in a unique position to take advantage.
Azoogle Ads - in my view the best 'lead' type ad service. A great range of offers to put on your sites that convert. Consistant with payments.

Running a humor website not only involves choosing the right
affiliate programs, it necessitates the need for proper editorial control.
If you plan to, or currently operate a humor website, there are some areas I advise
you to be aware of:
* Types of jokes. If you accept user submissions, please use a content management
system where you can track the originator of the joke. It's even best to operate
a system where you manually approve or delete any additions to a site. Obviously
if you run a forum you will need to be vigilent and act on any posts that are
illegal. Various types of jokes that are offensive and illegal would involve any
that somebody would deem as racist.
Other jokes that I would advise avoiding are any religious natured or any that
would hint at some form of hatred. Be aware that in the UK for instance, a bill
is going through that you should be aware of, which involves outlawing incitement
to religious hatred. Read
about it
* Copyright. If you accept photos, be aware that every photo (bar those that have
'expired') is copyrighted and there are no 'public domain' funny photos really.
There may be some, but all should be treated as being under copyright. When accepting
photos to a site, ensure you get permission from the photographer and always include
a copyright notice beside the photo. There is a humor webmaster community which
has a large section of Free Content, more than enough flash funnies, photos and
jokes to get your site off the ground. Visit
it
