I'm speaking from
experience. Sitting at my computer for years, munching on junk food and swigging
down bucketfulls of fizzy drinks. Inevitably when the toothache arrived it was
time for a dental visit. Boy, I sure wish I had a dental plan sorted before going
to the dentist as my teeth were in a bad state.
He told me they
looked not bad (for having not been for 7 years) but after the x-rays came back
the first thing he asked was 'you drink a lot of fizzy drinks, don't you?'. Holding
up the x-ray practically all my molars had interdental decay - where the fizzy
drinks and junk food got in between the teeth. With no dental plan or dentist
insurance I ended up having to fork out many thousands of pounds on fillings,
root canal treatments and teeth extractions :(

Click the link
above to read some of the benefits. You never want to be in the position I was
in, having to pay a huge amount of money. Dental Plans will save you money in
the long run.
Nowadays I have
eliminated fizzy drinks and know more about dentistry than I should. Here are
some tips to help you fight the webmaster tooth decay:
1. After eating
a meal, don't trust your saliva to help you fight decay. Buy some chewing gum
with Recaldent which helps
reminilarize your teeth. Give your mouth a quick rinse with water and if you don't
brush your teeth after a meal then chewing on this gum will help more than you
might imagine.
2. Brush at least
twice a day. Floss aswell. Buy a good toothbrush. I have a sonic toothbrush which
vibrates rapidly and is recommended by many a dentist as a good brush.
3. Visit dentist.
If you are frightened of drill and have visible decay on your tooth/teeth, seek
a dentist who uses Ozone treatment. This involves placing a special sealed device
on your teeth and using ozone gas to fight the decay. Then with special mouthwash
to reminilarize your teeth, it saves the dreaded drill. A fairly newish technique,
but well worth considering. Unfortunately with interdental decay, the old drill
will be used in most cases.
