Buying voice recognition
software. Since I have suffered bad rsi in the past, I researched and used various
packages on the market. It's best to buy a decent headphone/mike combination to
get the best out of the voice recognition packages. With these packages they allow
dictation and voice control (open window etc). I personally only use it for dictation.
IBM ViaVoice
This is my first
recommendation. For me, the accuracy was excellent and after about 1 week of use
I was getting 96-98% accuracy. Considering that my Scottish accent is a bit strong,
and naturally wavers a lot I highly recommend this package. I'm using this to
create my content today :)

L&H Voice Express Professional
A bad introduction
for me. I originally bought this since they had it half price. I now understand
why. It was dreadful for me, with an accuracy only ever reaching 60%. I spent
a week building 3 different profiles, one Scottish accent, and I put on (quite
good forced and clear) english and american accents. I was hugely dissapointed
in this product I mention it as a product I do not recommend unless you have a
very consice and clear voice.
Realize Voice 4
This allows a 30-day
trial. Ideal for those wanting to get a flavour of what these voce recognition
software can offer you. I found a few bugs, but it gave me around 96% accuracy
after a week. Pretty good.

With any software
package for voice recognition I would advise not to get frustrated. At the beginning
it can be boring training the software to pick up the tone and range of your vocabulary,
but as time progresses (with exception of L&H) it will get better.

RSI - a major factor in webmaster circles.
